Have some holiday cheer.

From my respectable-but-not-excessive 18-hour collection of Christmas music, I’ve put together three short mixes for you. (I realize it’s a little late in the season.) They’re not the greatest hits, although there are some of those. They’re not organized by theme exactly, although they are sequenced with some attention; the first and third are on the melancholy and quiet side of things, and the middle one is more festive. If you’ve downloaded my previous mixes, you’ll be doubling up on some tracks. Which is all to say that this is a somewhat haphazard project, but if you’re having people over and want something seasonal and sweet-to-bittersweet, you’ll do all right here.

Enjoy!

On the off chance that you’re still looking for stocking stuffers, please consider purchasing an album by your favorite artists here. I’m a particular fan of the Christmas albums by Low, Diana Krall, Over The Rhine, and especially Edmund Welles. (The Raveonettes, overlooked here, have a great one too.)

And lastly, please enjoy my own contribution to the literature:

In case you haven’t heard them (seems unlikely), I’ll mention the Elastica Christmas Session (I was just listening to Elastica recently and thinking that .I underestimated their pop charms).

Huh. Hadn’t heard that actually. It’s good stuff, if a little thunky for my standard Xmas rotation.
